Why did Japanese model their ancient capital Nara after the Tang Dynasty capital of China?

Is that not copying at the maximum degree? Copying your entire capital city after another country's capital? How ridiculous? And why do all the countries in East Asia have a culture that is similar to Chinese culture? Such as eating rice, using chopsticks, silk clothes, traditions, values, governmental structures and all that? Us Russians would never be such copy cats!

4. Do you know silk road?? Buddhism and paper and all most culture came from China. All Japanese had already learned such a thing on elementary school.
