can the nintendo ds lite play australian games if it is a japanese model?

im in japan atm and i want to buy a ds, but i dont noe if i can play australian games

1. No you cant.
2. The Ds is region free meaning that any DS console should be able to play any DS game. I dont know anything about the power supply, you may want to check if you'll need a separate adapter for it.
